VIEWPOINT
Our VBS last Saturday was a splendid day of concentrated Bible study. The children were enthusiastic and eager. One youngster, Allie King, asked, “Can we do Vacation Bible School again tomorrow?”
The theme, God’s All Star Champions, related sports topics to Bible study.
As we worked through the story of Zaccheus meeting Jesus (Luke 19), the
children learned the importance of making good choices.
--------------- Here are some challenging statements from The Christian Citadel: ¨ Kindness given away almost always comes back. ¨ Bad habits grow wild. Good habits need cultivating. ¨ To belittle another is to be little.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday with a Bible, a smile and a positive
word

Take a God Break
The other evening, I was out in the yard with the dog and stopped to deadhead – pull some dead blooms off – some of my flowers. As I was working, I noticed what I thought was a large moth flying around me. I finally took a moment to look at the moth and discovered it wasn't a moth at all. It was the tiniest hummingbird I have ever seen. This tiny bird was probably not over 1-1/2 inches long. Amazingly, this little hummingbird totally ignored me and just kept flying all around me dipping its beak into the flowers. I stood there for a good while watching it with delight. Then I decided to go inside to get my wife, but when we returned, the little hummingbird was gone. I truly enjoyed those few special minutes. The Father in heaven used them to impact my heart through His wondrous creation.
Shut out the world for a moment!
So, how about stopping for about 10 seconds, shut out
the world for a moment, and focus on something wondrous around you. God
spoke through David in Psalms 46:10 and said, “Be still, and know that I
am God.” As simple as that sounds, it is one of the hardest things in the
world for us to do, isn't it? Stop and take a “God break.” I just did and I needed it! How about you?
