VIEWPOINT With the proliferation of mobile phones, we have com-munication l
ike never before. But is that a good thing? I appreciate Jim and Willie
Mae Warren bringing me this comparison between the way we treat our
phones and the way we treat our Bibles:
BIBLE vs. CELL PHONES I
wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones? Ø
What if we carried it around in
our purses or pockets? Ø
What if we turned back to go get
it if we forgot it? Ø
What if we flipped through it
several times a day? Ø
What if we used it to receive
messages from the text? Ø
What if we treated it like we
couldn't live without it? Ø
What if we gave it to kids as
gifts? Ø
What if we used it as we traveled? Ø
What if we used it in case of an
emergency? Ø
What if we upgraded it to get the
latest version? This
is something to make you go “Hmmm . . . where is my Bible?” Oh,
and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have to worry about our
Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
----------- I
look forward to seeing you Sunday with a Bible, a smile, and a positive word
(but no ringing phones, please)!
